Everybody believed that the leprosy is controlled, not as a problem of public health in
Korean(The seatus of leprosy control in Korea is classified in modern analysis as
category 1) In general, they express the degree of leprosy control in the area as
category 1 through 3 and all the countries set a goal that they should be in the
category 1 by the year 2000.
In Korea, the incidence rate of 0.31/100,000, the prevalence rate 0.32/10,000 and 100%
MDT coverage showed that the leprosy is not a threatening public health problem any
more, and Korea is one of the category 1 country.
But in the leprosy control, they choose the world 'elimination' instead of the
'eradication'. This means that the purpose of the leprosy control is focused on the
pursuit of the improvement of the leprosy control not on complete eradication of leprosy,
in very near future.
In this paper, I also emphasize the inspection of incomplete factors which one hidden
in front of the leprosy control.
